Terms & Conditions
Last updated 31 July 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of DeckLocker, a marine inventory and compartment management application provided by Decklocker ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or continuing to use the service you agree to these terms. If you are using DeckLocker on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it; if you use it personally, you confirm you are of legal age.
1. The service
DeckLocker lets boat owners and crew record vessels, zones, lockers, boxes and items, print and scan QR tags, track expiry dates and stock levels, store vessel documents and saved anchorages, and share a vessel with other users. Features are provided on the plan you select.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- When you share a vessel, you are responsible for the access level you grant to other people.
3. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service. In particular, you must not:
- use DeckLocker for any unlawful purpose;
- commit fraud, send spam, or impersonate others;
- upload content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the service — including malware, probing, penetration attempts, automated scraping or circumventing technical limits;
- reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the service.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the inventory data, documents, photos and notes you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and display that content solely to operate and provide the service to you and the people you share a vessel with. You are responsible for having the rights to any content you upload.
5. Intellectual property
Decklocker retains all rights in the DeckLocker software, design, documentation and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within the plan you have selected.
6. Service level
We work to keep DeckLocker available and accurate, but the service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. DeckLocker is an organisational tool and is not a substitute for statutory safety inspections or the skipper's own checks of safety equipment, expiry dates and vessel documentation.
7. Plans, payment and subscriptions
New accounts include a two-month free trial. After the trial, a paid plan is required: US$3 per month or US$30 per year, billed in advance and renewing automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Plan & billing.
Payment, billing, tax, invoicing, cancellation and refund mechanics are handled by Paddle. Please see the Paddle Buyer Terms for full details, and our Refund Policy.
8. Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the service at any time. After termination you may request an export of your inventory data for 30 days, after which the data may be deleted.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Decklocker against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
13. General
You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Decklocker is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms: contact Decklocker through the support link in the app. Billing and order enquiries are handled by Paddle at paddle.net.
